Tooth Replacement with Dental Implants
Replacing teeth with dental implants gives you a long-term, stable foundation for your smile. No other restoration can give you the results that implants can. Although the process can take several months or more, the results can last many years, or even as long as natural teeth. To find out if you are a candidate for implants, schedule a consultation with Dr. Frame.
At your appointment, Dr. Frame will examine your teeth. Dental images and X-rays may be taken to determine the quality and quantity of your jawbone, the location of your remaining teeth and their roots, as well as other oral structures. Dr. Frame will take your dental and medical history, ask questions and explain your treatment options.
Implants are placed directly into the jawbone much like the natural tooth root is anchored to the bone. They are implanted during an outpatient procedure, and after the procedure, your jaw is allowed to heal before the final restoration is completed. Dr. Frame might place a temporary restoration until your implants can be permanently set.
As you heal, the bone tissue will grow into the threads of the implant, and the implant will be integrated into the jawbone. Once it is restored, the bone will be stimulated each time you bite and chew using the prosthetic tooth. This keeps your jawbone strong and healthy, allowing you to enjoy the stability and strength that can only come from a tooth supported by your jaw.
